Discipline Strategies

 

This workshop will explore strategies to handle harmful actions, tactics to minimize temper tantrums, ways to prevent misbehavior, and suggestions for meaningful consequences.  Discussions will focus on the importance of setting limits and ways to encourage cooperation and responsible behavior. 
Open to parents of children of all ages!

 

Joan is a Pediatric Nurse and holds a California Adult Education Teaching Credential in Parent Education and has over 30 years’ experience educating parents.  She was formerly the Director of the Parent Education for the Family Resource Center in Princeton, NJ. Currently, she teaches parenting classes for Warner Bros. Studios, the Burbank Preschool Education Program, and the Parent Participation Programs of Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, and Allan Hancock College. She is also the author of Parenting Solutions:  Encouragement for Everyday Parenting Concerns, available for sale at the Discovery Museum.

Cost: $10.00 per adult

Childcare available for children who are potty-trained at
